Several reasons why a United States
Power Squadrons boating safety class can
be of greater significant value for you
and your family to participate in and
complete:
-
Successful
completion of the basic course means
more than just being handed a piece
of paper. You are now able to JOIN
the USPS and become a member of a
community that is very actively
involved in boating of all forms and
at all levels.
- Your education
does not have to stop with just the
one simple class on rules and
etiquette.
- Continuing
education is available for as much
depth and breadth as you are willing
to strive for in all areas of
maritime happenings. As a member
education is never pushed on you but
made available for you at all times
and in many ways. You may achieve a
very up-to-date and extensive
education at a very reasonable cost
and at your pace. It is part of the
reason and purpose why the USPS
exists.
- Your voice will
be heard at a National level on
those topics that are of concern to
you; and if appropriate may be
carried further with the backing of
a National organization.
- You are not
required to participate in any set
or scheduled functions but are
encouraged to for your own
betterment. Also that the "Squadron"
to which you belong may benefit from
your experiences as well.
These are just a few
of the benefits you will come to realize
by taking the United States Power
Squadrons Basic Boating Course. You will
meet new friends with the same interests
and yet diverse backgrounds. You can
learn from the old and the new while
being linked to an organization that one
of its sole reasons for existing is to
enhance the public's knowledge about
safe boating and its many pleasures.
There are many
reasons to take a safe boating course,
The United States Power Squadron feels
it offers you more of what everyone
wants and needs towards a better and
safer enjoyment of boating.
